What is the difference between a flat rack and a container?
A flat rack and a container serve distinct purposes in the realm of shipping and transportation. A container is a standardised metal box used for storing and transporting goods securely via ships, trucks, or trains. It typically has walls, a floor, and doors, providing protection from the elements and ensuring easy handling during transport. On the other hand, a flat rack is a specialised type of container with collapsible sides that allow for loading from the top or sides. Flat racks are commonly used for oversized or irregularly shaped cargo that cannot fit into standard containers.
